Welp, that was cool! Went to an impromptu SIGMA Spectrum Infusion System training and am now apparently certified? Sure, why not. Sounds like fun.

Joking aside, it's a really neat system intended to decrease the amount of med errors and make life generally easier.

Scared for the beginning of my practicum tomorrow, feel totally unprepared.

WOOT, passed my case study!!! Now for clinical practicum next monday, yay! At least friday we're prepping for it and finding out the location.

This is atrocious. I had my first ever case study this morning at 0900 and I went first which was all good and well... but I forgot to introduce myself and, when doing a transfer from a wheelchair to the bed, I forgot to put the brakes on. So this week (meaning: TOMORROW) is going to be intense; case study in the morning at 0900 until 1130, I'm going first and my partner is going second. They're quite basic skills - bed making, medications, personal care, etc - but it's going to be interesting to maintain a calm but diligent and efficient mindset when being watched by someone grading ( Read more... )
